I’m not a POC but I am a mother and Bao resonated with me so deeply, I could barely keep it together. I personally think it was one of Pixar’s most beautiful and poignant shorts.
I liked the idea of having the same last name as my kids and I didn’t want to saddle them with a very long hyphenate. I made my maiden name my middle name so I didn’t have to let it go completely.
