Totally Cool October Playlist

Of course, October is the time to get your Halloween on, and I totally respect that. However, if you're not like me and 100% Halloween, here are some songs you can definitely jam to this October. All the links go to YouTube!

1. buy me diamonds by Bea Miller

Bea Miller is amazing, and this album is really, really good. I love this song, it is basically just saying "I don't want your love, I want diamonds instead." And like legitimately, what is more relatable?

2. Gooey by Glass Animals

Okay, so if you know me you know that I LOVE Glass Animals. This is off one of their older albums, and it was a very popular song in the alt rock/pop scene. It's got mad vibes and you should really listen to it.

3. Arrows by the Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters are a classic band that cannot be discounted. Since they just recently dropped their new album, I thought I would include my favorite song off of it. (Btw, The Sky is a Neighborhood is also an excellent song of this album.)

4. Nobody Speak by DJ Shadow ft. Run the Jewels

I've been obsessed with this song since late in the summer, and I don't know why it has taken me so long to put it on a playlist. With crude lyrics, a great guitar riff, and amazing beat, this rap song is epic. "You wanna hear a good joke? Nobody speak, nobody gets choked."

5. 2/14 by The Band CAMINO

Oddly enough, I heard about this song via a Tinder boy.... Anyway, it is a great bop and I really, really love it. At least something good came from that Tinder interaction.

6. She's Out of Her Mind by Blink-182

So, I am a huge fan of old-school Blink, don't hate me. But, Mark Hoppus' vocals really lend themselves well to Blink's newer songs, and I especially like this one. "I'm in deep with this girl but she's out of her mind." I feel that.

7. Destroyer by Saint Motel

"I don't break hearts, no that's not me. I don't break hearts, I destroy them." Literally such a good alt rock song, it will be stuck in your head for days. Days I tell you!

8. Walk Thru by Rich Homie Quan ft. Problem

I came upon this song freshman year, when my roommate would play it over and over, non stop. Listening to it again now, I realize that the song is actually pretty good, and of course, really catchy. Watch me walk thru.

9. Roman Holiday by Halsey

Okay, so this is a song off of Halsey's album Badlands. It is literally so good, another great night drive song. A great melancholy pop song from the queen of alt pop herself.

10. Mic Drop by BTS

Okay, so, another Kpop band. But listen, these boys have been burning up in national charts. Just recently, they made it on the Billboard Top 100. (Personally, I really like BTS and I think everyone should open their minds and give them a listen. They have a ton of really good songs about a multitude of concepts.) Anyways, this song was literally written about Obama's mic drop and it is epic.

11. 1 Night by Mura Masa ft. Charlie XCX

I am obsessed with Charli XCX and subsequently found this song and became obsessed with it too. It is fantastic, and I really like the music video for it too.

12. broken by lovelytheband

Oh I love this song. Another one great for night drives, I had never heard of lovelytheband before I heard this song on the radio, but it's fantastic. "I like that you're broken, broken like me." So. Damn. Good.
