Proving that Australia is still batshit insane, the Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs posted a picture of a goanna going in on a snake.
Goanna v's snake! Yesterday at home we were watching to see which direction a very poisonous western brown snake was heading. All of a sudden a sand goanna appeared and attacked the snake. We witnessed a spectacular battle won by the goanna (who was much smaller). The goanna then ate the snake. This is such a rare and amazing thing to see! Goanna saved the baby kangaroos!
A video also shows the goanna literally being tough AF.
Basically you should never mess with our wildlife.
