It made for an incredibly moving moment, with Carrie naming her late husband Greg Lange as her motivation.

She also thanked everyone who donated, and promised to "anybody who is suffering from brain cancer" that all of the money will go towards helping them.

According to their website, Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer has already made their first grant of $250,000 to a research project.

Carrie's husband died of brain cancer in 2010, and she started the charity last year to raise money for research into the disease.
