Marijuana, Not Even Once

The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) got in trouble by congressional over sight for working with the networks to make this episode (and other shows). This network and others were similarly found in violation by the FCC. Believe it or not, this episode was actually a violation of the law. The ONDCP failed to disclose that it was responsible for the anti-drug content, which is a violation of propaganda laws. The networks by the FCC because they did not disclose the government (ONDCP) as a sponsor. Anti-drug and specifically anti-marijuana stories were relatively popular with prime time drama at the time. The ONDCP would financially motivate and even manipulate scripts to broadcast their message. Fun fact for the day.
