BuzzFeed UK And Twitter Announce The Second Series Of #What2Watch

The show’s broadcast will be free and accessible globally on Twitter, broadcast weekly at @BuzzFeedUK.

London, May 2020 - BuzzFeed UK and Twitter today announce the second series of #What2Watch, the weekly show hosted by BuzzFeed’s resident publishing lead Dionne Grant (@DionneGrant) and writer, broadcaster and TV expert Scott Bryan (@scottygb). The duo will navigate the wild world of streaming services to find the best boxsets for you. This series will be a special three-parter, focusing on shows you can find on non-linear platforms to help people through their time in lockdown.

Starting on Thursday May 21 #What2Watch will be streamed exclusive live on Twitter @BuzzFeedUK each Thursday at 7pm. The team is producing a virtual studio inspired by the look and feel of the original live studio set, which the hosts will dial into from their home. The quality, however, remains and the recommendations, recaps, games as well as fan favourite segments will be at the forefront. Segments will include: Twitter’s Most Talked About Shows and the Should You Watch It? board.

Mark Rogers, General Manager for BuzzFeed Europe said: “Season 2 could not be returning at a better time: now more than ever people are craving guidance on what quality programming to spend their time on, whether they want to feel joyful, emotional or just take a break from thinking too hard. I’m incredibly grateful to our hosts, the production team who have made this happen in record time and of course our close partners Twitter and Tesco.”

EMEA Head of News and Sport for Twitter, Jo Kelly said, “The TV conversation on Twitter is huge and it’s the place where people come to share their TV recommendations and programme passions - more so than ever right now.

This second series will again be shaped by the topical conversation we’re seeing on Twitter and with Scott and Dionne bringing their unique expertise and charisma, #What2Watch is set to be another hit with our audience. It’s brilliant to bring #What2Watch back for TV fans and is also testament to the relationships we have with our partners.”

The show’s broadcast will be free and accessible globally on Twitter, broadcast weekly at @BuzzFeedUK. You can join the conversation via #What2Watch or @What2Watch, and viewers’ questions and comments will be brought in throughout the show.
