This year's theme was "feast," in honor of hungry content creators and consumers.

In addition to "eat all the pizza cones you can," here's what we learned about feasting:

1. Stock your kitchen with multi-hyphenates.

Empower every creator to become a writer-producer-whatever-else-they-want-to-be. Great content is made both in front of and behind the camera.

2. Make empathy your secret ingredient.

Quinta B.'s new series, BROKE, stems from her own experience moving to LA. "We were broke, but we were happy," she says. "And I didn’t see that much in media."

3. Instead of a set menu for everyone, cater to your unique audiences.

BuzzFeed's creators got into media because they wanted to make relatable content for people like them. "Not every nerd wants to take their glasses off, shake their hair out and become an extrovert," says Ze Frank.

4. Do frequent taste tests.

Traditional media doesn't allow for real-time feedback and learning implementation, but those things are part of BuzzFeed's DNA.

5. Get comfortable changing your recipe.

Whether you’re a teacher, a comedian, or a content creator, tweak your content for your audience.

6. Use the world around you for inspiration.

According to Jonah: “If something really works in Japan, we’ll figure out how to bring it to the US. Same goes for platforms—if something works on Facebook, we’ll figure out how to make it work on Snapchat.”

7. And don't be afraid to switch up the ambiance.

75% of all BuzzFeed content is consumed off our site, so we started creating content with those platforms top of mind.

8. Know that, at the end of the day, authenticity is what counts.

Relatable content has driven Buzzfeed's over 7B+ monthly content views. "It's not just about relevancy—it's about intimacy," says Frank Cooper. "We help brands achieve human connection at scale."

9. But it doesn't hurt to make stuff that looks delicious.
