Hunters Grindhouse Experience By BuzzFeed + Amazon Prime Video

Can you smell the popcorn? 1977 New York has taken over Highland Park in Los Angeles in celebration of Amazon Prime Video’s new highly anticipated series Hunters, starring Al Pacino, Logan Lerman and executive produced by Jordan Peele.

We teamed up last night to throw an epic screening and killer afterparty, complete with DJ sets from A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs of Fool’s Gold fame. The party continues through Sunday, February 23 - while tickets are currently sold out, you can always stop by the theater for a standby ticket and there’s plenty of other activities and deals happening on the block -- find out more here. Guests were invited to enter the show’s universe with an immersive experience that brought the entire audience to 1977 New York City and all its grit. So what exactly went down?

It all began by stepping into the transformed Highland Theatre as it became “The Empire,” Prime Video’s own grindhouse that’s an authentic throwback to the gritty cinemas of New York’s 42nd Street.

Of course, guests collected nostalgic snacks and takeaways all night long (and hopefully held onto their watches!)

After getting a special sneak preview of the first episode where our bad-ass vigilante squad sets forth on a bloody quest for revenge and justice, guests then crossed the street to “Hunters Alley” — better known to Angelenos as Highland Park Bowl — for a killer afterparty set in 1977.

The entire celebration was packed with bowling, NYC pizza, Hunters-themed cocktails, and a bloody good time.
