Shocking Pinks

DFA label's poppiest release yet is a one-man-band out of New Zealand.

DFA moves away from its typical dance-punk sound and gets all wussy on us. The lo-fi aesthetic and melancholic charm reminds us of Pavement meets the Field Mice, but the over-the-top drums sets it apart from anything we've ever heard before.

Editorial note: Whoa! You've found a super-old post here on BuzzFeed, from an earlier era of the site. It doesn't really represent where we are anymore, and may in fact be totally broken, but we're leaving it up as a part of our early history.
