Volunteers always ask “can I bring my kid/coworker/neighbor/partner/friend/family?” Kalimah, who dedicates a full week every year to volunteering, brought her daughters on board to collect gifts for new Habitat homeowners.

Volunteers form bonds with the people they help that go beyond their time spent volunteering.

They bring friends to volunteer with them to celebrate special occasions, like birthdays and weddings!

Think of charity:water asking people to pledge their birthday gifts to provide clean water. Habitat Greater San Francisco volunteers spend their birthdays--or in this case, their wedding showers--building homes. Congrats Huong and John!
