7 Things You Should Know About Dorm Life

Here are 7 things you should know about before you go to University this year.

1. Booze is expensive.

You're going to drink a lot in University -- you know it and I know it. But have you thought about how much it's going to cost you?

The average student consumes about $15 or more worth of alcohol every night they drink, and by my estimations, you'll be drinking.. roughly.. like.. every night, right? Get savin'.

2. Your room is gonna be hella-tiny.

Look at these punks and their spacious, luxurious dorm room. Oh, what? You think that that room is small? Ha. Haha... Hahahahahahahaha.

Seriously, you're going to be living in a shoebox. On the upside, you can clean the whole room in like five minutes.

3. You're going to make the best friends ever.

I know your high school bff is important to you, but trust me.. they ain't got a thing on the people you're going to meet on res. It's going to blow your mind when you find people that are exactly the same as you are.

What the hell, you eat your toast upside down too!? TWINZ.

4. Studying sucks. Studying hung over sucks harder.

But you know what? You're going to do it anyways, because if you fail this midterm, you're going to be totally boned.

But do yourself a favour and never forget that Cs get Degrees - don't study too hard.

5. Freshman 15? More like Freshman 50.

It's really, really easy to eat really poorly at school. People say they gained weight, and you've been all, "Oh, I'll just take the healthy options," and stuff. I know you have. But you're a filthy liar. Yes you are.

It might be hard to resist the desserts and the burgers and the pizza and the pizza and the... oh man, the pizza. But if you can't manage to stick to salads and such, at least control your portions -- too much of a good thing is a very bad thing.

6. Skipping class is dangerously easy to get away with.

As in, like, your professors won't notice, nor will they care, if you don't attend class. Nobody will call home. There will be no consequences.. except for a huge impact on your grades.

It's okay to cut class every once in a while if you have somebody to copy notes off of and don't miss a quiz or anything, but trust me, lying in bed and watching Netflix all day may sound great in the morning, but your GPA will pay for it if you make a habit out of it.

7. Sectioncest is awkward.

Cutie live two doors away from you? Totally wanna experiment with friction and other metaphors vaguely pertaining to intercourse with them? Think twice. Hooking up with somebody that you're gonna have to see all the time usually ends up sucking.

I mean, you're probably not gonna marry them, right? So living two doors away from them and sharing a bathroom with them and potentially sharing a lot of friends with them might be pretty awkward once the hookup is over.
