The Most Important Girl-With-Chicken Photos Ever

An autistic girl meets a chicken with special needs and it's nothing short of glorious.

This is Klein. She is amazing and talented and sweet and very smart and also autistic. Oh, and FABULOUS.

This is Louise. She is a chicken with special needs.

She almost died when she was a tiny chick, but she beat the odds. Unfortunately, she wasn’t very fast or very big, and got picked on by the other chickens. She needed a champion. She needed a best friend.

Klein was nervous about meeting the chickens at first, and fed them treats from the safety of a bench.

But she soon learned that there was nothing to be afraid of, especially from one special chicken – Louise!

She began feeding Louise from the ground. Louise was THRILLED to have a new friend. And a snack. That bird loves a snack.

As days passed, the two became best friends. Klein let Louise sit in her lap – a HUGE breakthrough!

And eventually, Louise let Klein carry her around, everywhere she went. Looking FABULOUS, of course!

They enjoyed chatting with each other, too.

One of the biggest reasons Klein overcame her fears, and became best friends with Louise the Chicken, is because of her awesome school. She attends a special school for kids like herself where they can learn and grow in a safe, supportive environment. It's called Jordan Lake School of the Arts and it's a wonderful place!

Like many specialized schools, attendance requires resources from parents. Her amazing and wonderful mom has done everything she can to keep Klein in a place where she can continue to thrive and grow, but as a single parent, it's difficult to keep those resources flowing.

It's also very difficult to ask for help – so Louise is asking for her!

Basically, Louise says that, with a little help, Klein can continue to attend her awesome school and can continue to grow and thrive and move mountains. Unless circumstances change, this will be Klein's last year at her school.
