Spider-Man Officially Joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe
It has been announced by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios that Spider-Man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The idea of seeing our favorite web-slinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seemed too far fetch, since almost every piece of information that suggested such a reveal was crushed immediately. But alas, Marvel fans everywhere can rejoice because everyone's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is coming home. It has been announced by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios that Spider-Man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"I am thrilled to team with my friends at Sony Pictures along with Amy Pascal to produce the next Spider-Man movie," said Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. "Amy has been deeply involved in the realization on film of one of the world's most beloved characters. Marvel's involvement will hopefully deliver the creative continuity and authenticity that fans demand from the MCU. I am equally excited for the opportunity to have Spider-Man appear in the MCU, something which both we at Marvel, and fans alike, have been looking forward to for years."
The announcement comes days after new speculations began surrounding the possibility of seeing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after it was announced that Amy Pascal, co-chair of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and chair of its motion picture group, was stepping down from her position.
Spider-Man will make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before taking the spotlight in his own film, which will be co-produced by Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, and Amy Pascal. Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own, and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.
With the integration of Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, certain films were shuffled around and received new release dates. Spider-Man will appear in a undisclosed film, before appearing in his own film, slated for release on July 28th, 2017. Thor: Ragnarok will be moved to November 3rd, to avoid direct competition with Spider-Man, as well as Captain Marvel, and Inhumans.

Despite the great news surrounding the joint efforts made by Marvel and Sony, there are some bad news for fans of the previous 'Amazing Spider-Man' films. The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield, will not return to reprise his role in the new films.
