The Most Adorable Mugshot Ever Is Also Fake

I know 19th-century France was NO joke, but even this would be too extreme.

OK, so this is definitely the cutest mug shot ever; the photo (taken in 1893) is of François Bertillon, a 23-month-old toddler, who was “arrested” on charges of gluttony -- for “nibbling all the pears from a basket.”

Fortunately for François, he was spared the guillotine since this mug shot is a fake. The image was taken by his father Alphonse Bertillon a French police officer who created and standardized the modern mug shot.
