14. Floating Marina

Via toyzdollz.com

Why this rocked: It was an AWESOME way to include the Little People during bath time. Also, not only did this playset FLOAT, but it also brought a seaplane -- to allow your Little People a quick get away during the inevitable bathtub tidal wave that would hit the marina.

What kind of blew about it: It was really only fun in the bathtub.

13. Family Hospital

Via ebay.com

Why this rocked: Not only did this come with a cool operating room, but they also included a crank elevator to get your sick Little People up the second floor without any obstacles.

What kind of blew about it: If your Little Person was going to the hospital, it probably wasn't for good reasons. =(

12. "A" Frame House

Via ninijeanie.wordpress.com

Why this rocked: It was just super cool looking.

What kind of blew about it: Aside from the looks, it was just too tiny for all your Little People to live in on a full-time basis, it was really more of a getaway home.

11. Main Street

Why this rocked: CAR RAMPS! The ramps allowed your Little People to drive past the ~horrible~ congestion of main street and the ONE traffic light.

What kind of blew about it: There wasn't much to Main Street other than the street and the car ramps, unless your Little People liked going to a very cramped post office multiple times a day.

10. The Jetport

Via galleryhip.com

Why this rocked: It came with a PLANE that allowed your Little People to jet away to fabulous locations, like your parents dining room or the basement.

What kind of blew about it: The plane was cool, but who wants to hang around an airport? The Jetport really only served as a starting point for the final destination your Little People would end up in.

9. The Sesame Street Clubhouse

Via etsy.com

Why this rocked: It came with a trapdoor, three slides, swings, and a slew of Sesame Street characters as Little People.

What kind of blew about it: Not much, but the Little People always seemed to get stuck on the slides, which sucked 'cause that was kind of the main selling feature of this playset.

8. McDonald's

Via etsy.com

Why this rocked: It ~allowed~ you to go to McDonald's whenever you wanted -- not just on "special" occasions.

What kind of blew about it: It was no substitute for actually going to Mickey D's, and in fact it actually really made you want to go to more.

7. School House

Via etsy.com

Why this rocked: It was an educational toy disguised as a Little People playset; plus, for the pre-schoolers playing this, it allowed you to imagine what REAL school (aka kindergarten) would be like.

What kind of blew about it: So many pieces -- they were a bitch to pick up and eventually you would begin to lose numbers and alphabet pieces.

6. Zoo

Why this rocked: Aside from the animals, it had a lot of cool moving pieces; plus a tram!

What kind of blew about it: The moving pieces jammed up really quickly. Also, unlike other Little People playsets, this didn't allow you to store any of the pieces within the playset, making it easier to lose the pieces.

5. Sesame Street

Via ebay.com

Why this rocked: Duh, 'cause it was a Sesame Street playset! Who didn't LOVE Sesame Street?!

What kind of blew about it: Once you started losing the Sesame Street Little People characters (which ALWAYS HAPPENED) it sort of just became an apartment building playset.

4. Play Family Castle

Via etsy.com

Why this rocked: It was a castle!!!!! SO. MAGICAL.

What kind of blew about it: Aside from what came with the castle, there were no other accessories or playsets you could buy to complement this castle.

3. Tudor Family House

Via etsy.com

Why this rocked: It was a house -- and a nice one at that -- for your Little People to live in, and it came with a car and a garage to house it in!

What kind of blew about it: Pinching your fingers (OUCH!) as you put the two halves of the foldout house together.

2. Play Family Farm

Via myhealthygreenfamily.com

Why this rocked: It came with a whole bunch of cute animals! It had an appealing color-scheme and the door "mooed" whenever you opened it.

What kind of blew about it: Aside from losing the animals, nothing.

1. Parking Ramp

Via judysvintagefisherpricetoys.blogspot.com

Why this rocked: It came with cars that you could set up to race down the ramp of the parking garage. And on top of that it had a crank elevator from which to launch the cars from.

What kind of blew about it: Nothing. Let's be honest, back in the day this simple toy provided hours of fun.
