What Contemporary Book Should Be Taught In High School?

"A book is a gift you can open again and again." –Garrison Keillor

For many of us, high school was a time for reading through some of the best literary classics.

But while the classics are great, there are plenty of contemporary books that are worth learning more about.

Should the work of authors like Gillian Flynn be added to the mix?

A book like "The Help" could offer a look at history through a different lens.

Maybe you think something sentimental should be taught, like "The Fault In Our Stars."

Perhaps we need a bit more humor writing in our required reading.

Heck... maybe everyone should just be forced to read "Harry Potter."

The options are endless. What contemporary book do you think should be taught in high school? Tell us which book and why in the comments below!
