Yesterday the NFL ruled that Tom Brady will be suspended for 4 games this year because his balls were too soft in last season's AFC Championship game.
A report issued earlier by investigator Ted Wells came to the conclusion that Tom Brady allowed equipment managers to tamper with his balls, resulting in them becoming softer than the NFL allows.
Brady had stated that he preferred his balls soft so that he could pump them into tight ends, and sometimes wide receivers. The softness of his balls also made them easier to grip.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came down hard on Brady's soft balls with stiff punishment. "We take the condition of our balls seriously," he declared, "and the rules on how firm a quarterback's balls should be need to be sternly enforced."
