1. Janky Promoters (2009)

“You can’t be a boss, until you take a loss”. Pretty much everything Ice Cube and Mike Epps make together becomes a cult classic. I’m pretty sure we’ve all seen both Friday movies and All About the Benjamin's, like a billion times but Janky Promoters doesn’t get the same love. However, if we’re talking about comedic genius, this one ranks right up there with the rest. Not only is this movie hilarious, but it’s another chance for us to watch some playful comedic banter between Craig and Day-Day.

2. Tap (1989)

YAASSS ! I love a good dance movie. This gem gives us Sammy Davis Jr. and the exceptional Gregory Hines in (arguably) one of the best dance battles ever in a movie. For that reason alone, we should all be streaming this movie on a chill night.

3. I Got The Hook Up (1998)

If you can get past the fact that Master P. is a pretty bad actor, then you're in the game. This movie is a hilarious take on what it means to have the “hook up”. It reminds us of why we no longer buy anything from that one perfume hustler at the gas station.

4. Dope

This movie was so dope. People need to recognize.(insert punching hand emoji) This movie was like a new-aged Boys in the Hood, but it relates to a different generation of kids and for that reason, it should be respected as much as the others. Not to mention, we have to stand behind these new talented young actors like Shameik Moore.

5. Osmosis Jones (2001)

I have to admit that I also slept on this movie a little bit. Being that it’s animated, we forget that it also stars Chris Rock and Brandy. This movie is one of the few animated black films and we should give it the credit it’s due. Besides, if it wasn’t for this movie, as a kid, I wouldn’t have known the importance of hygiene.
