Top 14 Reasons You NEED to Attend the 2014 KC Improv Festival

There's one weekend of KCiF14 Left. The first weekend was so amazing we can't even. Here is a recap and what to look forward to.

1. Twinprov, from Oklahoma City. That’s right, Twin Improvisers that Rap, Holla

These cool kids once gave a TEDx talk on ‘The Creative Flow of Improvisational Rap’. They were amazing to say the least.

2. The world Famous Baby Wants Candy from Chicago

Baby Wants Candy was like a marathon in the best way, everyone was exhausted from laughing so hard.

3. Oh, you like Chicago improv? Yeah, we’ve got that too

Villian, Little Bear, and Doctor Robot all filled our hearts with joy and completeness. You can get the same feeling the second weekend when 2013 Chicago Improv League Champions d'Hôtél Winñetkå storm into town.

4. We're Backed by the Best Beer

Boulevard Brewery is a sponsor this year. Sure, we’d be drinking it regardless. We're having our cake and drinking it too.

5. The Cream of Kansas City's Improv Crop

Ten out of the 16 troupes performing are from right here, baby. To Name them all: The KC Improv Co, ComedyCity, Dog & Friend Dog, Babel Fish, Alpha Swan Platoon, Business of Otters, Disappointing Birthday Party,Keith plus one, I Don’t Want Solidarity If It Means Holding Hands With You, and Operation Show. All of these groups follow our "Laugh Local" theme this year and are free-range GMO-free improvisers.

6. Superego is Back and Fully Loaded

Their podcast features profiles in self-obsession. Improvised and analyzed. The resident specialist of Superego are returning to KCIF once again. In years past they've brought guests. This year they're bring a whole new member!

7. Well, who is the new member?

Well it's none other than, comedian, actor, Mr Peanutbutter, improviser, and best damn dressed man you've ever seen, Paul F. Tompkins.

8. The hometown kid, Jeremy Carter is coming home

You may know him via his Superego personality, off of the hit record "Mount us More", Shunt McGuppin.

9. Also in Superego is Matt Gourley

Images of his face have been popping up everywhere like a deity in toast.

10. Dog and Friend Dog

A rambunctious championship winning duo that has been described as adorably hilarious. You may recognize the one on the left as Mazuma Mike, and you'd be right.

11. Another son of Kansas City returns

The ever lovable Tommy Todd returns to perform alongside Keith Curtis in Keith plus One. Don't miss out on the magic.

12. Rick Andrews from The Magnet Theater in NYC

Not only will Rick be teaching some sold-out workshops, this harolded (i'm sorry) improviser will also be performing with The Kansas City Improv Company.

13. Red Bull. Reeeed Buuull. Red’da Bullaa.

Thanks to a generous donation from Redbull, all of our improvisers now have wings.

14. A Special Someone is Celebrating a Birthday.
