Response to What’s The Greatest Gift You’ve Ever Received?:
when I was a kid we were really poor, like out in the country poor, but my mom never let us know that. We never knew how tight funds were, so while all our friends were getting Ken dolls for their Barbies, we had to cut Barbie’s hair and suddenly we had a ‘boy’. :) One year we had absolutely no money for gifts and to be honest, had barely enough food in the house, so after a full day’s work and while we were asleep, my mom would stay up and cut whatever spare clothes and decent scraps of fabric she had and hand sewed a whole duffel bag of Barbie clothes for our 2 Barbies. She wanted to make sure that when we went back to school in the new year, we would at least be able to say we had some gift to open. As a child, that gift seemed so exciting, and now as an adult, no gift will ever measure how much those Barbie clothes mean to me. There’s a reason why 25 years later my sister and I still hold onto that duffel bag.
Response to "Hell On Wheels" Has Thrived In TV’s Graveyard:
easily, hands down, one of the best shows on tv: the cinematograhy is stunning, the writing is stellar, the comraderie between Bohanon and Elam not to mention the beyond amazing acting of Christopher Heyderdaal as “The Sweede” (which seriously pisses me off he doesn’t get nominated for an Emmy).
