    While it seems like Israel is constantly in the news, what people around the world may not know is that the country is not (only) about wars and politics; it also boasts a vibrant culture and music scene. Indeed, Israel even has its own small – yet very active – hip-hop scene. In the 6th part of this series, which focuses on bringing that burgeoning hip-hop scene to a wider audience, we’re looking at four of the best new indie Israeli Hip-Hop songs to be released this week.

    1. Hassid ft. Caffee Shachor Hazak - Yeled Gever

    Hassid is one of Israel’s most promising hip-hop artists, and he’s about to drop his debut LP, after more than a year-and-a-half of hard work perfecting the album and its sound. ‘Yeled Gever’, the second song he’s released from the upcoming album, is a fun ‘club banger’ which features a collaboration with the popular Israeli rap duo Caffe Shachor Hazak. You gotta' love it!

    2. Beni Esterkin - Hertzel

    Beni Esterkin is only 25 years old, and already considered one of the top MCs in Israel. Beni’s style is a mix of everything from hardcore to comedy, with personal lyrics deftly dropped alongside fun- nonsense rhymes.

    Two weeks before Israelis go to the polls for national elections, ZK, Kerah and Kor Ruah released this song, which is an open letter to Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s incumbent prime minister. The track addresses the everyday struggles of Israel’s working class.
