How Not To Piss Off Your Friends This Election Cycle

    Making Facebook Politics Less Cringe-Worthy

We all have some pretty strong opinions this election cycle, and that's great! But we might need a reminder now and then what type of political posts are for sharing on the newsfeed and which are for DMs... Trust me on this. Here are some tips for not pissing off your Facebook friends:

    1. Fact-check

If it's not a satirical post please double check yourself. If it seems outrageous, that's probably because it is.

    2. Avoid "just because"

"You're voting for [insert candidate here] just because you're [insert demographic here]". Not cool y'all, not cool.

    3. Posting based on policy, not emotion

You are voting for a candidate that is going to represent your political agenda, not choosing a life-long BFF.

    4. Be informed on both parties' platforms

Hey, you just might learn something that you can share at happy hour!

    5. Enough with the "I" statements

The founding fathers voted to benefit Americans as a whole, not you.
