5 Things You Need To Remember From The Season 4 Finale Of "Scandal"

As we anxiously await the return of T.G.I.T tonight on ABC, there are a few things that you'll need to remember about the season four finale of Scandal. Here's what went down:

1. Eli/Rowan/Command got arrested

After Rowan makes it explicitly clear to Olivia that she "can't take command," she and Jake have to come up with a new plan to defeat him. Eventually, it dawns on them that although they can't take down Rowan as Command, they can go after his coverup identity, Eli Pope. The last time we see Eli/Rowan/Command, he is being held in a prison cell on charges of embezzlement. Whether or not Olivia and Jake's plan works will probably be determined in the season five premiere.

2. Fitz ended things with Mellie

After four seasons of relationship turmoil, affairs, and fights, it seems as if Fitz and Mellie might officially be done. After Fitz learns of The First Lady's role in providing Rowan (who, don't forget, posed as a potential campaign donor in order to get Mellie's attention) with the names of the B613 trial jurors in the season finale, he kicks her out of The White House. Judging by the scene that follows, where Olivia and Fitz dance together on The White House balcony, it seems as if Fitz's decision might be permanent this time.

3. Cyrus got fired

After several seasons' worth of shady business on Cyrus' part, Fitz decides he has had enough in the season four finale and fires his Chief of Staff. It will be interesting to see if Cyrus is upset about being cut from Fitz's team, or if he'll embrace not working for The White House much like Olivia did in the season four premiere.

4. Quinn threatened to kill Huck

After it's revealed that Huck is the one who killed the busload of Grand Jury members in order to prevent Rowan from going after his family, Quinn decides to address Huck's actions in her own way. The last thing we see of these two is Quinn holding a gun to Huck's head and Huck crying, asking her to shoot him. We're left to wonder what course of action Quinn will take.

5. Olitz happened...again

Are we really surprised, though? Olivia has a nasty habit of going back to Fitz time and time again. It seems as if they can finally be happy together now, though, since Rowan is in jail and Mellie is no longer in the picture. The final scene of the season four finale showed us Olitz kissing and dancing on The White House balcony; it's a safe bet that we'll pick up with them together in the season five premiere.
