Take This Lollipop Actor Riding Facebook Horror Wave
Actor Bill Oberst Jr, best known as the cyber-creep in Take This Lollipop, the most popular Facebook application ever, is the subject of a new t-shirt design from Mental Shed Studios. It's the 2nd shirt done in honor of the horror actor, joining a design from top genre site MoreHorror.com, and joins a growing list of merchandise bearing the actor's name or likeness including a very realistic severed ear and a rosary with skulls in place of the traditional beads. Oberst is launching a new website next week which will include a store to sell all of it. The actor is not shy when it comes to marketing. "I love it" he says, "Actors are products." Director Jason Zada's Take This Lollipop set records in it's 30-day run as a viral Facebook application, garnering 10.5 million "likes" and 50 million unique hits from around the globe. The horror-themed application which ended earlier this week put users in the middle of a frighteningly personal cyber-stalking experience and drew press coverage from CNN, the New York Times, Ad Age and hundreds more news outlets worldwide.
