Kesar Dhaba Thali

“Kesar da dhaba”, the much popular hub of Amritsari food. Its known for its ages old history and amazing dal tadka.

More amount of people like the trademark dal of kesar, but me and my family went gaga over its palak paneer. It was the perfect combination of finely made spinach and soft mouth dissolving paneer. The kesar thali is to die for, even though you feel that your stomach is full but, your ‘neeyat’ never gets over there; its that finger licking good.

Amritsari Kulcha

Wont this amazing picture of tandoori kulcha is enough to make you crave for it? This is “Aan, baan and shaan” of Amritsar. ‘Stuffed tandoori kulcha’, which served with chole and a rare combination of chopped onion in thin textured sour chutney. The crispiness of this tandoori kulcha, when you dip it in chole and chutney, you will forget yourself and the world. You can find this mouthwatering kulcha in Delhi also, but you wont find the same authentic taste of Amritsar.

Sattpura

This is an age old delicacy of Amritsar, called ‘Sattpura’. The name itself suggests seven layers of flour based thin layers. It is crispness is its U.S.P. The stuffing is done with potatoes and the serving with traditional ‘punjabi chole’. The taste will make you crave for more and more, even if you are stuffed till top.

Phirni

Imagine the combination of sweet glittery almond flavored pudding, being served in an earthy bowl. Mmmmmmm! Its pure heaven. This heavenly bliss of Amritsar special is named as ‘Badam Phirni’. This is a dessert of its own kind, you will never get enough of it. What makes it special, is its amazing texture, which is created out of almond, condensed milk and rice.

Aam Papad Paan

Aam papad (Dried Mango) is one of the specialties of Amritsar. The Aam papad thing was discovered and became famous, ages before! But, some ‘paanwaala’, challenged his creative skills and experimented with the flavor of paan, enrolled in Aam papad. This little thing is scrumptious and mouth-watering. A perfect blend of sweet and tangy flavor. Its called ‘Aam Papad Paan’
