6 Reasons People Can't Get Enough Of Fall

Females love Fall. It's a fact of life. For some reason women become about 80% happier when September comes around. So in turn, men get happier as well (boyfriends & husbands especially). There's a certain something about the way the air gets more crisp, and the coffee turns from iced to hot, that makes us all grin inside.

1. Pumpkin Flavored EVERYTHING

Ok, I know not EVERYONE loves the taste of pumpkin (my boyfriend being part of the minority) but in general it’s a favorite among palates. Autumn is basically Pumpkin Palooza. Food makers across the country put that shit in everything: Pumpkin waffles (and other breakfast items), Hershey’s Pumpkin Kisses, pumpkin Pop-Tarts, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin ale, pumpkin vodka (courtesy of Pinnacle), and America’s favorite The PSL (formally known as the Pumpkin Spice Latte) from Starbucks.

2. Loose, Comfy Clothing

This summer crop tops were IN, which means ladies’ stomachs were out. I had to tell myself “No! Don’t eat that third cookie you’re wearing a crop top. Do you want to be bloated?!” I don’t like to limit my cookie intake based on my attire.

Therefore, I think we women call all agree we are excited for the season of baggy sweaters and jeggings. I know men are excited about the switch too. I’m sure it’s easier for them to throw on a sweatshirt and jeans and call it a day, than to plan an outfit around a graphic tank.

3. Scented Candles

As the human population I think we can all agree “summer” candles suck. I don’t want my house smelling like lake (it’s real), s’mores, or watermelon. I’ll take pumpkin pie, autumn leaves, and my personal favorite ‘Home Sweet Home’ by Yankee Candle any day. They are inviting and comforting and make me want to eat apple pie while I burn them.

4. Your Choice of Movies Goes Way Up

Fall is the time to watch those movies that aren’t exactly Christmas movies, but you would feel weird about watching them in the summer. i.e The Family Stone, You’ve Got Mail, The Holiday, Just Friends, and all of the Harry Potter films.

It’s also the only time of year when watching Hocus Pocus on repeat is acceptable.

5. The Return of Football

As a Cheesehead who was born and raised in Green Bay, Football means A LOT to me. I feel like America and I are on the same page with this one. Most people have a team that they route for whole-heartedly. Many partake in Fantasy Football (I don’t get it), and the lucky ones attend the games. One thing everyone loves about football season is the beer and food. “Are you going to come over and watch the game?” is just another way of asking, “Do you want to come over and get drunk while we eat burgers and dips (dips on dips on dips)?”

6. The Weather

If you live in the Midwest or on the East Coast, Fall is your time to brag. Yeah, the Winters may be harsh and last too long, but Fall is perfect in your neck of the woods. The trees are changing colors, the air is getting crisp, and the tourists have dispersed. Every Autumn growing up I would go horseback riding, go apple picking, and of course make a trip to the pumpkin patch. It was pure bliss. In California we love fall because it means we don’t have to live in 80-degree weather anymore. We’re happy with a 67-degree day, with the sun shining.
