You probably don't need me to remind you about the drama that went down earlier this year when Kanye West said in an interview with TMZ that slavery was a choice.
The interview was the subject of a ton of criticism as Kanye ranted about his love for Trump, and the slavery comment was just the cherry on top. As Kanye yelled at the TMZ office about free thought, one staffer went viral when they stood up to put their two cents in.
Since the infamous interview, Kanye has since apologised for his comments and rapped on his latest album that he thought Kim would leave him as a result.
Kim also revealed in an interview that she cried and fought with Kanye for a week over the comments.
Now, a teaser clip for an upcoming episode of KUWTK has been unveiled and it shows Kim talking with friends about what went down, culminating in her claiming that Kanye didn't actually say "slavery is a choice".
"I always know what Kanye's intentions are and what he's trying to say," Kim began her confessional. "But I also know that they're gonna write a headline and people are gonna assume that's exactly what you said and what you meant."
Kim added: "Kanye's slavery comment? He never said that. That was just the headline."
In Kim's own words?
If you listen to what he said, he said, "Slavery was 400 years, if it's gonna be another 400 years that sounds like a choice to me." He didn't say slavery is a choice. He was saying if you're still going to be enslaved for another 400 years then that's some bullshit.
At the end of the clip, an off-screen producer says "they take the sound bite and do whatever" to which Kim agreed, adding that it's frustrating.

So, Kanye says:
When you hear about slavery for 400 years — for 400 years? That sound like a choice. Like, you were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all?
Now, according to Kim, what Kanye said was edited, and she's not exactly wrong. Between Kanye talking about Trump and then the slavery comments, there's a clear cut from one to the other so we don't know exactly how the topic was brought up.
But after that, there's not another cut until Kanye gets up to shout at the TMZ staffers, so there's no denying that Kanye said: "When you hear about slavery for 400 years — for 400 years? That sound like a choice."
This is the first time that Kim or Kanye have made the direct claim that the video was edited. But in a previous red carpet interview, Kim hinted at it when she said his comments "might get misinterpreted and people don't see the context behind it".
