    The Linde Werdelin Oktopus

Linde Werdelin is a brand on the move. They are set to relaunch their brand's lineup in a few weeks at this year's Basel World. While the models won't be officially available until then, they have been slowly but surely whetting our appetite. About a month ago they announced their SpidoLite, which we loved for its innovative, titanium skeleton design and the use of a vintage independent movement. That watch was designed to be as light as possible, after all its inspiration came from a team of British mountaineers who needed a watch that was as light as possible to scale Everest. Just announced today is a watch on the other end of the spectrum from the SpidoLite. It is called the Oktopus and is large, chunky, and above all else, very masculine. This is a diving watch, and a very serious one at that. It is tested to a unique 1,111 meters below the surface, a full 11% deeper than most of the super-divers being released these days (and deeper than the Enzo Mechanas we featured recently).
