A Spooky Week Of Halloween

Louisville and the surrounding areas are chock full of festive Halloween and fall activities. From haunted houses to pumpkin patches, we’ve got it all. October 24th: Costume Preparation

Before you can truly get into the Halloween spirit, you're going to need a costume. Swing by one of the local costume stores and check out the plethora of options. Want to join the other 100 girls you know who are dressed as Elsa this year? No worries, you're sure to find what you're looking for at Caufields, Horner Novelty, or any of your other favorite Halloween stores. If you're feeling particularly crafty, grab some fabric and spend the night making your own costume!

October 26th: Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular

Need some pumpkin carving inspiration? This is the place to get it! The Jack-o'-Lantern spectacular is one of the most unique attractions in Louisville. Featuring over 5,000 pumpkin carvings, you are sure to find the inspiration you need. Whether you want to carve a cartoon character or a national landmark, you'll see that and much more here.

October 27th: Pumpkin Carving

Now that you have more inspiration than you know what to do with, it's time to start carving away at that perfectly round pumpkin you picked up at the farm a few days ago. Pick your favorite pumpkin from last night and recreate it in a new and fun way! When you're done, take a group photo with all your friends' carvings and show off your creations! Be sure to tag @bellarmineu and #bupumpkins when you do.

October 28th: Scary Movie Night

No Halloween themed week would be complete without a scary movie marathon. If you feel like going out then head to a local theater and see one of the new scary movies. If you prefer a quiet evening in, Netflix has tons of scary movies. Some are good, some are so bad they're funny. Either way, you're sure to find something enjoyable. Not into scary movies? Watch a classic like Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown instead. If you're looking for a unique scary movie experience, The Palace is screening Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream on Halloween.

October 29th: Halloween on Hillcrest Ave.

Now that you've prepared yourself with scary movies, it's time for an in-person Halloween experience. Hop in the car and take a ride or walk through the Hillcrest neighborhood, where they go all-out with decorations for All Hallows Eve. They have everything from giant skeletons to witches and werewolves to satisfy your spooky décor needs.

October 30th: Haunted House

Okay, time to get serious… seriously scary, that is. There are tons of haunted attractions in Kentucky to choose from. These attractions vary in price and time length, so do some research and choose the very best location for your group. Haunted forests, hotels and morgues, oh my!

October 31st: Halloween

The witching hour is upon us. Gather your friends for a festive costume party or grab your nieces, nephews or little cousins and take them trick or treating! After this fun filled week of frightful festivities, you're sure to be up for whatever the night brings!
