The Wonder Ball Is Finally Back And We Couldn't Be More Excited

Oh I wonder, wonder, wonder what's in a Wonder Ball?

We hope you love the products we recommend! Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales from the links on this page.

If you were a kid in the '90s or early 2000s, you probably remember the Wonder Ball: a hollow chocolate sphere filled with...even more candy.

And surprises! Sweet, sugary surprises.

They were basically the American version of the Kinder Egg, which until recently, was illegal in the United States.

The FDA bans candy with toys inside, because it's a choking hazard, and honestly we can't blame them because who hasn't inhaled a bunch of chocolate without chewing?

Wonder Balls actually also started with toys inside back in the '90s, when they were called Nestlé Magic Balls. But just like Kinder Eggs, they were considered dangerous and had to stop in 1997. In 2000, they re-released the candy as Wonder Balls and removed the toy aspect.

Now Wonder Balls are owned by The Frankford Company, and after over a decade off the shelves, they're officially BACK!

Disney

Last year, Wonder Balls ended a 12-year hiatus to put out some Minion-themed balls in honor of Despicable Me 2. Now they've released a whole bunch of new themes that have already hit shelves all over the country.

So like, RIGHT NOW, you can run to your local store and find these babies.

According to their website, the new themes include: Super Mario, Disney Minis, Shopkins Plus, and Monsters Plus.

Each ball comes with fruity candy, stickers, and sometimes little trinkets. The Super Mario ones come with collectible coins, the Shopkins come with charms, and the Monsters come with little plastic monsters. Basically, you have an excuse to buy like 50 boxes of these things. Also check out these dinosaur ones that have been out for a while.

You can stock up (because who knows how long these things will be available???) on Amazon, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Party City, or wherever you used to get Wonder Balls back in the glory days. Most places are selling them for a dollar or two per box.
