Because being the center of family photos doesn't mean you're the center of attention.

    1. Making decisions is incredibly difficult.

    2. So is having an opinion.

    3. If your older sibling has a piece of clothing you want, just wait.

    6. You can't get away with as much as your older sibling did, as the first-born, or as much as your younger sibling does, as the baby.

    7. By the time you come along, your parents have learned from some of their mistakes, but they're still tweaking their methods.

    8. When your parents tell relatives what everyone has been up to, you always come in the middle of the paragraph, when everyone's minds start to wander.

    9. It can be hard not to feel a little invisible sometimes.

    10. Unlike your siblings, you don't have to specify between "my younger sister," "my youngest sister," "my younger older sister," or "my older younger sister."

    11. It pains you when everybody can't just get along.

    12. You know that if we could all just take some deep breaths and consider each other's perspectives, we could thrash this thing out in no time.

    13. Even if your family seems not to notice you sometimes, you're the glue that holds them all together.

    14. Because feeling ignored doesn't mean that you are.
