Ganesh Chaturthi in 2012 is on Wednesday, the 19th of September. Ganesh Chaturthi is the birthday of Lord Ganesh, the son of Shiva & Parvati. It is a Hindu festival which will bring joy, love and happiness in homes. In this festival Ganesha idols is immersed in water, usually in lakes or ponds after a large procession. All join in this final procession shouting "Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudhachya Varshi Laukar ya" (O lord Ganesha, come again early next year) in Maharastra and "Ganesh Maha Raj ki, Jai" (lord Ganesha, victory is yours) in Andhra Pradesh.
