Reasons These 5 Major Fast Food Restaurants Are Literally The Worst

Seriously, they are pretty much the whole reason that 63.1% of American adults are fat.

1. Let's start big.


They don't use real chicken in their nuggets; I'm pretty sure that the entire internet already knows this, but in case you don't McDonald's uses a concoction that has been widely nicknamed "pink slime" because of its gelatinous texture and salmon-y color, which is about a 3:1 ratio of cereal filler to real white meat.

It's also currently one of the only major chain places that still doesn't offer a veggie burger. I mean, it's not like I would ever even consider going there, but why are they too good to make a semi-healthy sandwich? And vegans? Sorry, honey. You can't even have the Fanta.

2. Burger King


Let me just start by telling you that when they say that they actually grill your burger, they are bullshitting you. they broil them on a conveyor belt that spins like a ferris wheel.

The "BK Broiler" (A chicken sandwich name for those of you who don't know) is unfortunately cooked in the same broiler as the regular hamburgers, which means that chunks of beef and pork can be falling off and landing in your poultry. Bad news for the bird-eaters.

And I am all for the Proud Whopper (for those of you who aren't aware, the proud whopper is a burger that BK debuted after a pride parade in LA, and after people started eating, they thought it tasted different, but the wrapper underneath the burger just said that they were all the same.). That was pretty cute. But everything else is just ugh.

3. Taco Bell


Here's a list of every ingredient in the Doritos Locos Nacho Cheese Taco. I'll bold the especially gross ones.

4. KFC


KFC, sadly, also uses concoctions relative to "pink slime". It has also had a history of non-chicken objects ending up in their buckets, such as possible kidneys, brains, and even hearts. (JUST SO YOU KNOW, the links will lead you to some pretty NSFW images...)

5. Wendy's


It's rumored that their chili is made from throwout-date hamburgers, but I don't think there's any actual evidence. The interet doesn't have too much dirt on them at the moment, but I know for a fact that autolyzed yeast is a common ingredient in their food.

"Autolyzed yeast: Autolyzed yeast (containing the cell walls) or autolyzed yeast extract consists of concentrations of yeast cells that are allowed to die and break up, so that the yeasts' endogenous digestive enzymes break their proteins down into simpler compounds (amino acids and peptides)."

Some AYE is commonly found with MSG.
