    2. And then having to explain where you were born, how you ended up in Australia and why.

    4. Knowing that as soon as someone learns where you're from, they'll immediately tell you every word they know in Bosnian.

    5. But also knowing that Bosnian swears are the only way to express true anger.

    7. Being incapable of imitating your dad's accent without sounding Russian or like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

    8. And being hit with a papuča as soon as your dad hears your imitation.

    9. Knowing that promaja will 100% be the cause of your death.

    10. Wearing a singlet under your shirt no matter how hot it is because otherwise the promaja will definitely get you.

    11. Fearing any unsealed water bottle for the rest of your life after the several swigs of rakija you've accidentally taken from the fridge.

    12. Knowing your mama's burek/pita is the best, no matter what your cousins say.

    13. Celebrating Eid without really knowing what's going on, if you're Bosnian Muslim.

    15. Reminding all your non-Bosnian friends that they need to take their shoes off before they come into your house, to save them from the wrath of your mama.

    16. Having your family change your friends' names to be more Bosnian.
