9 Pop Groups You Forgot You Loved - Or Just Forgot

1. Dream Street

The stuff of adolescent dreams--pun intended. In case you didn't know, Aaron Carter, of "Beautiful Soul" fame and the ex-boyfriend of Lizzie McGuire, was once a member of this sadly short-lived group. Highlights from their albums include "It Happens Every Time" and "I Say Yeah."

2. Play

Personally, Play was a favorite of mine. These Swedish preteens somehow managed to fill the void that the Spice Girls left when they disbanded. Play was basically the female equivalent of Dream Street and even did a collab with one of Dream Street's members on "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me." My personal favorite song is "Us Against the World"--check out the music video if you want some peak '00s ~fashion~.

3. No Secrets

Another short-lived group. No Secrets only released one album, titled--you guessed it--No Secrets. Yet, in spite of that, they managed to make quite the impact (on me at least) with their song, "That's What Girls Do." Although, looking back on it, the lyrics ("play your emotions / push all your buttons, it's true / that's what girls do"--like, seriously...) aren't exactly what we should be teaching young children, 'namsayin.

4. 3LW

I mean, c'mon. 3LW is basically the Cheetah Girls, minus Raven-Symone (and the girl who played Dorinda). They are HANDS DOWN the most underrated pop/R&B group of the late '90s/early '00s. Don't believe me? Check out their song "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)." And if that doesn't float all your boats, well...playa pleathe.

5. Jump5

If you grew up on Disney Channel and Radio Disney like I did, then Jump5 played an integral role in the soundtrack of your childhood. And as an added bonus, they had some serious acrobatic skills that, as a semi-adult, I'm still insanely jealous of. Plus, "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" is genuinely a great song from one of the greatest movies ever made: Lilo & Stitch.

6. Atomic Kitten

Like me, you were probably introduced to Atomic Kitten through The Lizzie Maguire Movie, and that was pretty much all the introduction you needed. It got me singing "The Tide Is High" into my hairbrush and dancing around my room while trying on clothes. And, yes, I know that this is a cover of the Blondie song, but the Atomic Kitten version will forever be #1 in my <3.

7. A*Teens

You can never have too many Swedish pop groups, if you ask me. A*Teens was THE SHIT, and I'm sure many of you will concur. Like, "Upside Down" was my 9-year-old party anthem. They also did an incredibly catchy cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" for the Lilo & Stitch soundtrack, which just proves that Lilo & Stitch, aside from being a blubberingly good movie, had some of the best '00's music ever.

8. S Club 7

Ain't no party like an S Club 7 party, amiright? Play might have filled the Spice Girls-shaped void in me, but S Club 7 filled that void for everyone else. I mean, they were managed by former Spice Girls manager, Simon Fuller, and their music definitely had similiar vibes--plus, Hannah Spearritt is basically Baby Spice reformatted.

9. The Cheetah Girls

The coordinated cheetah-print outfits. The on-point dance moves. The girl power. It literally doesn't get any better than the Cheetah Girls. Even though Raven/Galleria wasn't a part of the official Cheetah Girls group (like, the one that actually went on tour and made albums and shit), they are still the best thing to come out of Disney Channel ever. Cheetah sistas 4 lyfe!
