I will be showing you how I have changed over the first semester of college and how the way I think of college has changed.

My first semester of college

Where my first semester took place. Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

My journey to college began, I had no idea what it would be like. Similar to this colonist I felt as if I was discovering the new world. It wasn't new a new world though, it was a new chapter in my life. I had no feelings of uncertainty, this was something I wanted to do. One of my major goals in life was now in motion, attending college.

My first semester of college has changed me a lot. I've grown as a person and as a student. My communication skills have gotten better along with my time management skills. Getting work done when it is given and not waiting till the last minute. I feel like I've accomplished more this semester than in all my previous years in school. One of the major turning point I was able to recognize was that I now ask questions when I need help with something and don’t feel stupid for asking questions like I always had.

The difference in the way I feel about college now and the way I previously felt about it is that I actually have a plan for what I want to do in the future. Don’t get me wrong, I've always wanted to graduate college and earn a degree I just never knew what it was I was going to do with that degree. I now have a set plan which is to earn my Bachelors in Pre-Physical Therapy, maintain a GPA of a 3.5 or better and go to PT school to become a Physical Therapist. Since I had set that goal I've noticed a major improvement in the quality of my school work and how much I really want to succeed in all my classes.

College is nothing like the way I thought it would be. I had the impression that it was going to a living hell for 4 years. College is a lot different from high school no doubt. The work load alone can be stressful and living on your own away from your parents can be hard but you just kind of get used to it. I still think about a lot and miss it but college is a blast! That is if you keep up with all your work, communication with your professors is key. If you need help with something you need to talk with them about it. They are there to help you succeed (well at least mine are). I always had the assumption they were there to fail you and ruin your life, but that’s not the case. They want you to succeed.

I plan to attain this at the end of my four years.
