Finally! An intown Atlanta Jewish day camp that provides the exciting activities, creates the lifelong friendships, and facilitates the character-building experiences of Jewish overnight camp–––all while letting your child sleep at home!
In the City Camp of Atlanta, GA is in its fifth year running, and growing every year! My name is Adele, and I this will be my third summer as a counselor at camp. There are many reasons to join me and our ITCC family this coming summer, but here are my Top 10.
In the City Camp is not a specialty camp–––campers get to do tons of different activities every day such as sports, art, drama, magic, swimming, cooking, and so much more! There are two programs within In the City Camp: a Kid Camp for ages 5-10, and a Tween Camp for ages 11-14.
Campers choose their own activities! Each activity hour has several options for the campers to choose themselves: if they want to hike on Monday morning, but build a bird feeder on Tuesday morning, they are encouraged to do so.
Field trips! Every Wednesday, the Kid Camp has a fun-filled outing in order to experience things like hiking Stone Mountain, going tubing on the Chattahoochee, going roller-skating, etc. The Tweens go out on Thursdays, and get to camp out overnight!
Transportation and affordability made easy–––ITCC offers a bus service that extends to many areas of Atlanta, so there's much less stress during morning and afternoon carpools! In the City Camp also gave over $30,000 for financial aid so that campers are able to attend!
Jewish life! Campers get to experience a Jewish environment that fits their own observance. All of ITCC's counselors are Jewish, and there are many opportunities for Jewish learning and experiences throughout daily camp life. Whether a camper attends a daily Jewish school or has never learned a word of Hebrew, they will find ITCC to be accepting and informative.
Bunks–––campers are assigned a bunk within their age group so that they may have a small family within the larger ITCC community. Though during activities the campers may break out of their bunks, every day the bunks serve as a home base that fosters engaging relationships with both counselors and friends. In a survey for the summer of 2015, an overwhelming 93% of campers experienced a positive connection with their counselors!
Before and After Care! In the City Camp offers programs for both Before and After Care, so that parents can pick up their campers when they are able to–––we understand the working life of a parent can often be inflexible.
Israeli Staff! Every year, ITCC hires several staff from Israel who create cultural diversity and new learning experiences for the campers so that they may celebrate both America and Israel.
Fantastic Fridays! Every Friday, staff members and counselors plan events for the campers ranging from Color Wars to discos to carnivals.
In the City Camp is a home for all. ITCC prides itself on being a joyful aspect of your child's summer, and we hope that you can join our family this coming year.
