This New Mom's Husband Asked Her Why She's So Cranky In The Mornings, And Her Response Was Perfect

"These drawings came about from a lack of sleep and a desire to get my point across."

This is Mattea Goff, her husband Kris, and their two daughters, Seleste, 5, and Aurora, 5 months old.

Recently, Kris asked the breastfeeding mom why she was so tired and cranky in the morning.

"My husband is a fantastic guy, but sometimes if you haven't lived something, you don't understand it," Goff told BuzzFeed.

So to answer her husband's question, Goff used her amateur drawing skills to illustrate several examples of what her nights are like, a set of drawings that quickly went viral after she posted them to Facebook.

"I've given my husband drawings before, but this particular set of drawings came from my lack of sleep and my desire to get my point across," she said.

"When I first gave the drawings to my husband, he definitely thought they were funny. But he's just as surprised as I am that they've gotten so much attention!" she told BuzzFeed.

Goff's Facebook post has been shared over 200,000 times, and has received thousands of comments from fellow moms who find it hilarious and all-too-real.

"I think these drawings really resonate with moms because the exhaustion is hard to explain to someone who hasn't lived it. But when you're able to create a visual with pictures, it's something that's easy to share when you don't have the words," she said.

Goff told BuzzFeed that in addition to making moms laugh, she hopes her drawings will also encourage dads to continue to support nursing mothers.

"Support and encouragement for exhausted new moms is extremely important from everyone around them, especially their partners," she said.
