Watch Pokemon Go Players In Chennai Lose Their Shit In Search Of A Blastoise

    "Where is the Blastoise da?"

A few weeks ago, a video surfaced on Youtube where Pokémon Go players in Central Park, NYC went berserk trying to find a Vaporeon that spawned in the park.

If you thought that the fever was limited to other countries, consider yourself a sweet summer child. A prominent park in Anna Nagar, Chennai spawned a Blastoise on Sunday and scores of youngsters were seen in what seemed like a Pokémon induced euphoria.

The video posted by Facebook user Vignesh Pillai shows young lads screaming “Where is the Blastoise” in Tamil. Smiles and laughs were exchanged as they collectively made a run in search of the Blastoise.

This video comes as a relief to people like me who are slightly ashamed at the thought of leaving the house with the sole purpose to catching some Pokémon. On Saturday, I embarked on a Pokémon hunt, armed with a backup battery pack and a tiny bit of uneasiness when I walked to a nearby temple, which is a prominent gym in the location. I thought I may be one of the few insane people leaving the house solely for some Pokéballs, but boy was I wrong!

Within minutes, I spotted 5 people in the age group of 16-25 from a rival team planning to take down the gym owned by MY team. We exchanged jokes and taunts before I collected my Pokeballs and headed to the next location.

The next time you think you’re alone in this, take trip down to Chennai and you’ll be sure to feel like you belong.

Till then, good luck catching them all!
