Who's Ryn Weaver?

Aryn Wüthrich goes by her stage name Ryn Weaver (say it like "grin" without the "g"). Ryn grew up in California, went to school in NYC, and moved back to LA. Her debut album, "The Fool" was released in June of 2015, and the 3 songs that I chose from it were tough choices because I like all of her songs. I HIGHLY recommend listening to the entire album. Ryn pushes the boundaries of what "pop" music really is. Some tracks off of the album give me serious Stevie Nicks vibes, but that might just be me (Traveling Song and Here is Home...if you want to check them out). Ryn's vibrant personality is shown through her music videos, live shows, and interactions with fans on social media. Like I said before, I suggest listening to her entire album, as it is a great listen from start to finish. Ryn's unique vocals, awesome personality, and pretty cool dance moves make her worthy of this week's VIP artist.

The title track of of Ryn's debut album "The Fool", this song deserves MAJOR recognition. The entire song is super catchy. *PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS SONG UNTIL THE END. Seriously. You'll understand why once you get there. Ryn's voice is so unique, and she writes lyrics with meaning. Plus the production on this song is pretty cool.

*(ok. if you are SOOOO busy and cannot listen to this entire song, at least skip to around 3:00 and listen to the end of the song to have a life changing experience)

2. PIERRE

Once again, I've picked an acoustic version of a song, because why not. You can REALLY appreciate her vocals here. This song pushes the boundaries of a "pop" song as it has a folky vibe to it. Also, there are some pretty cool and talented musicians in the background.

Ryn has performed at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonaroo, Coachella, and Firefly. She puts her all into her performances and the audience can feel that energy, whether they know her or not. She relates to the crowd and her shows transcend you to another dimension. Her shows include a good mix of slower, relatable songs to up beat songs that she and the crowd can dance to. She is an incredible performer and you can really feel her sincerity in her words, as well as her love and passion for what she does.

VIP RATING

I am very picky when it comes to spending my time listening to different artists. Some things that I really appreciate are good lyrics, unique vocals, personality, and different/cool production. Ryn Weaver truly fits each of these areas, and I wish that people would give her more recognition for her talent. For that reason, I am giving Ryn a rating of:
