    Hi! My name is Arielle, and I am currently doing Remote Year — which means I'm working remotely while traveling and living in a different country each month. My first stop was Lima, Peru, and the food was AH 👏 MA 👏 ZING. Here's a list of the best places to eat when you visit!

    1. Isolina

    Located in the artsy area called Barranco, Isolina is an AMAZING place for traditional Peruvian food. The concept of the restaurant is comfort food your Peruvian grandma makes. It's even named after the chef's mother.

    You've gotta try: Tallarín Saltado a la Criolla

    This is located in a bustling outdoor market, accompanied by musicians and other entertainment while you dine. All your meals come with soup and toasted corn, and OMG the ceviche is fresh AF. If you don't go here, you're missing out.

    This is the 6th best restaurant in the WORLD and it was also featured in an episode of Chef's Table. The entire concept is that the 16-course meal features ingredients from several different elevations of Perú, and it's all likely things you've never tried before. Make reservations far in advance!

    6. Maido

    This is the 7th best restaurant in the WORLD, and it's definitely worth going to. It's Japanese-Peruvian fusion, and they have some really unique dishes. Make reservations in advance.

    Barrio came highly recommended to me as a place to eat Lomo Saltado, and it did not disappoint. It's also located in San Isidro, which is a neighborhood worth walking around in if you're in Lima.

    Oh man, there is no better place to get dessert than Maria Almenara. You walk in, everything smells like heaven, and you want to eat EVERYTHING.

    Pocho Cáceres

    Astrid y Gaston is the 8th best restaurant in Latin America, and is owned by the world-renowned chef, Gastón Acurio, and his pastry chef wife, Astrid Gutsche. This is a pricy place to eat, but the Peruvian cuisine is excelente.

    This is another amazing spot for seafood! There are a few locations, and you'll find some bomb ceviche at each one. I also recommend splitting the arroz de mariscos with friends because it is delightful.
