Phillip is my emotional support animal who travels with me almost everywhere, from beach trip, shopping, robotics competitions, and more! These around our adventures!

Phillip was born, November 13 and she came home 3 days before christmas. She was the perfect christmas gift!

Originally Phillip was suppose to be a boy but trying to identify the gender of a hedgehog is a bit harder then you'd think. Three days before we were suppose to pick her up we got a email from the breeder, I was scared something happened to my baby, but it just turned out he was actually a she. Which I was fine with and no matter what I would love her! I spent a month calling her Phillip and I decided not to change the name, I joke with my friends say she could be gender fluid or bigender (Such as myself).

They have an amazing breeding program and If you are think of getting a hedgehog, definatly get one through a breeder, they take a lot better care of there hedgehogs then any pet store that I have seen.

Phillip really hates baths, my mom was so disappointed that she wouldn't float on her back like other hedgehogs do but I guess that's just part of her personality!

Phillips First Days at Robotics

I have been apart of the robotics program for years and I got Phillip right before build season started. (Which is a six week period)

Of course I brought her down with me as much as I could, as first she was jumpy with all the machines and noise but after one meeting she just slept right through it!

Getting her use to new people and noise was something that I needed to do if I was going to have her as a therapy pet, which worked out very well for my team mates and I.

One big thing that helped me out at competitions was having friends that loved taking care of her when I was busy. Either I had to talk to judges or go in for Chairmans interviews, they were always there to help me and they loved taking care of her. (Though she wasn't that hard to take care seeing as she would just sleep all day)

They would take her around to meet people and say hi to friends, sometimes Marissa would come and just steal her away just so she could play with her.

Manisha could come by to say hi when she wasn't busy, Ali and her family would take turns holding her, Soap was always there to hold her if judges came by or when we were at the practice field!

My Friend Karina made Phillip fleece blanket that has the FIRST robotics Symbol on it, Along with some tiny safety glasses!

It was like phillips own uniform for robotics!

It became an easy way to find phillip, just look for the orange fleece!

Coming Out

I recently came out to everyone as being bigender, which is a gender identity that falls under the non-binary umbrella. To identify as bigender generally means you identify as two genders. You could identify as both at the same time. You can go back and forth between two genders.

Phillip became a huge part of my coming out video because I didn't want to do the usual coming out video.

I have gotten a lot of people messaging me and commenting about how it has helped them and Im just so happy that it has and I'm glad I decided to do it!

My parents brought phillip to my graduation ceremony, it was funny because from where I was sat on my stage I can see them so they held up phillip for me to see! If I could of I would of walked across that stage holding her but my dress had no pockets.

Every hedgehog has there own personality and I personalty love phillips. She's quite the derpy hedgehog, but she's always quiet photogenic! I can put her on my head or shoulder and she stays long enough for me to take my pictures.

Recent Trips

As it is summer, phillip has been coming to the beach with my family and I. Almost people would think that they animals would run away, but thats quite the opposite with phillip. If I put phillip a few feet away from me, shell look around then normal run back to me!

The most recent trip was to bingo at the casino, for my brother and mines 18th birthday my grandma brings as to the casino to play bingo. It was a lot of fun, more stressful then I thought! Of course phillip came with me, she's hung out with my grandma and I, we were hopping she would bring us luck but sadly that didn't happen.
