The majority of us just go to college because it's the "logical" thing to do after high school. However, here are some regrets you might have if you just blindly follow the crowd. Don't just go and make the same mistake!

1. You're Broke Af

You don’t have enough money to pay for your tuition but don’t fall below the “per household amount” to qualify for the government’s financial aid. Nice laws there, America. Instead, you pay $40,000 a year for 4 years, racking up more debt than you started out.

2. You Have Nothing to Eat...Literally

Let’s face it. There is just absolutely no variety in your diet because the only food you can afford is ramen and pizza rolls. Every meal is the exact same, cheap and unhealthy crap. All the money you save up is going towards tuition and housing instead.

3. You Can't Torrent

Books are insanely expensive and the school wifi completely blocks all torrents and outside ways of obtaining information so you have to buy a $200 book that you only open 4 times in 10 weeks

4. You're Caffeinated from Dusk to Dawn

Your body basically runs on coffee because you’re too busy balancing your two jobs and school work. Plus, you have absolutely no time to sleep.

5. Your Freedom is a Façade

You think you can finally escape your parents and live off on your own when it's actually the same hell repeating...but worse. In college you don't have your parents' hands to hold and fall back to when you get in accidents or run out of money. There also is no time to balance a social life and friends. You're on your own completely.

6. You Have to Love Your School

Your school logo is everywhere you go. The logo is printed on bumper stickers, everyone's shirts, lanyards, IDs, bottles, you name it. Even if you didn't get into your dream school and this is a safety school that you hate, you still basically have to live and breathe school pride.

7. You Have to Share a Dorm Room

Literally everyone lives in the same small cubical cell of a dorm room that you have to share with another person. All the graduate students and professors get high-tech apartments while you have zero privacy or space.

8. You Still Get Judged in Class

Your professor will tell you that “there is no such thing as a stupid question,” then stares at you and refuses to answer when you raise your hand. If you try to participate in class everyone will just stare at you with hatred, deeming you the "teacher's pet" who is just trying to get better grades by speaking more.

9. You're Not a Kid or an Adult

It’s like you’re in some in between universe of childhood and adulthood where you feel like you can do anything, but you can’t really. You don't have your own home or a secure job and have nothing to fall back to if you fail.

10. You Waste Your Time Studying

After 4 tiring years of learning a certain major you somehow manage to survive and get your degree. However, there are no jobs hiring requiring your field and all the time spent studying is completely wasted...time to learn a different field for work!
