December 19, 2011. Strauss-Kahn speaks at an economic forum in Beijing. In November, he'd sued several French media outlets for linking him to a prostitution ring that included underage prostitutes (though there was no suggestion he had personally paid underage girls for sex). In March, French authorities would begin formally investigating him on charges of "aggravated pimping." He admitted to attending sex parties, but said he didn't know the women there were prostitutes.

April 22, 2012. Strauss-Kahn leaves his polling place after voting in the first round of France's presidential election. Before he was accused of sexual assault, many had thought he'd be a frontrunner in this election.
