New Laws Could Keep Transgender People From Voting

New laws in nine states requiring voters to show government-issued photo IDs could disenfranchise up to 25,000 transgender people, says one study. That's because many don't have a government ID that shows their current gender. Getting an updated ID can be difficult and expensive, and many trans people may have a hard time doing it before election day.
