Angola Is Blossoming

We all know that Angola is in a clear process of blossoming and development. What many may not yet know is that you can take this expression quite literally. Angola has one more treasure: its flowers and plants.

Today, flowers and plants are present in our daily life:

In love demonstrations;

Weddings;

Birthdays;

Music;

Fashion;

And they are even seem as something nice to lay back on – at least judging by perfume ads

Let’s face it: flowers make everything beautiful and fun!

In Angola, the plants and flowers have a heightened importance, as part of the wonders that the country has to offer.

One of these wonders is the Welwitschia Mirabilis - a plant that only exists in the Namibe Desert:

This plant consists of a woody stem that does not grow and a large taproot of only two leaves. Over time, the leaves can reach more than two meters long and become ragged at the edges.

While it is difficult to assess the age that these plants can reach, it is thought that they can live more than 1000 years. That is to say that they deserve our respect.

In Benguela and Moçâmedes, we can find Acacias Rubras.

And these are just two examples of biodiversity that can be found in Angola. Angolan flowers and plants are so important that deserved the attention of several studies.
