Not as cool as real lions, but still good for lulz.
Based in Huntington Beach, CA, the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society of St. Bonaventure Parish has been whippin' up a storm as of late in the Orange County area with their lion dance team. Though they've only been around for two years, they've quickly rocketed to the top of the list of local lion dance teams. But, who cares about lion dance teams, you may ask? UHHH, only ALL OF ORANGE COUNTY. A giant cultural pot that leans slightly more sweet-n-sour dumpling soup than say, chicken noodle, Orange County is home to pretty much every popular pho restaurant and boba shop in Southern California. (If you don't know what pho and boba are, you haven't lived, my friend.)
Going by the name of Doi Mua Lan Hung Dao (DMLHD), this lion dance team is such a closely knitted group, you'll be wondering why your grandmother didn't send them to you for Christmas with your initials on the front. This dynamic team, nay, DREAM team, performs for any event you want. You heard me, ANY EVENT. They've done New Years events, birthdays, weddings, grand openings, personal events, company events, you name it. I bet they'd perform just for fun if ya hired them. Why NOT send them to your Valentine's house Friday morning just to rouse your love from their peaceful slumber with a booming rendition of lion dance drumming and cymbals? Send 'em to that spiteful neighbors house and have them play for hours on end and see if that Mr.Jones will let your dog bark in peace from now on. The possibilities are as endless as the college lecture/business meeting/game of tag you're probably reading this in.
