"If You're Not On The Matildas Bandwagon Yet, It's Not Too Late": Fans Are Reacting To The Matildas Epic Victory Over Denmark

As they say in Anne With An E, "How I love being a woman."

After a nail-biting match against Denmark, Australia's Matildas have advanced to the quarter finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup. And we are officially one step closer to locking down another public holiday.

If you didn't have the absolute bliss, pleasure and anxiety of tuning into last night's game, here's the need-to-knows.

Caitlin Foord had a sprint off with Denmark's Stine Ballisager and secured the first goal of the night at the 29th minute. Her ball control is IMMACULATE.

Oh, to be in the stadium rejoicing.

Once again, Hayley Raso showed us who's boss, scoring her 3rd World Cup goal after a killer set up from Mary Fowler and Emily van Egmond.

Emily van Egmond's reception of Fowler's pass sealed the deal.

The G.O.A.T., Sam Kerr swapped her pre-match kit for an on-field jersey to play her first 10 World Cup minutes. Crowds around Australia rejoiced like never before.

She also slipped on the field and we were all ready to jump through our TV screens to check if she was okay. It looked slightly brutal.

And to cap it all off, the Matildas showed their sports(wo)manship post-game, consoling the Danes on their loss. Win or lose — there's hugs to go around.

Aussie soccer** fans, from the east coast and across the Nullabor shared their feelings on the exciting win. Here, we've rounded up the best reactions from last night's emotional rollercoaster of a match.

It fills my heart to think about all the little girls across Australia tonight seeing they can be the hero, the one to shine, they can be the superstar, that a nation adores, in no man’s shadow and cheers on. Priceless. The #Matildas  have already won. #FIFAWWC    #TilitsDone pic.twitter.com/ZtrkfWNKlC
