What It's Like To Go Back To School After Going On A Cruise

Spring break was so relaxing, especially being on a cruise, but coming back to school has definitely been a struggle.

The past week you had been living on a floating hotel and laying out on the pool deck while the tropical sun was keeping you warm. No cares in the world, eating all of the food that you wanted, drinking all of the drinks that your body could handle because we all know that the calories don't count when you're on vacation.

But its time to go back to college and catch up with all of the work that you put off during break...

During the entire drive/flight/train home you were holding back tears because you know that you just came from heaven but you're on your way back to hell.

You get back to your dorm late at night and try to unpack some of your stuff and you START. TO. SWAY.

And not swaying like you're swaying to the music...no no. Swaying like you were still on that cruise ship. You start falling over because its been a week since you had been on solid land for a long period of time. So you just go straight to bed and try to sleep it off.

It's Monday and it's the first day of classes after coming back from break. Most of your classmates are all tan, just like you.

You hear your teacher asking everyone where they went while he waits to start class and you ease drop and see where everyone went. Mean while you try making small talk with your neighbors asking them how their break was and where they went.

Time for lunch. You see all of your friends that you hadn't seen for a whole week and its like a big old reunion!

You all talk about your spring break experiences and see who hooked up with who and what scandals happened over break. And then you start to sway again. What do you do? Take a Dramamine? You try to play it cool because you want to hear all of the gossip but deep down you're praying the swaying will stop.

After lunch you go home and nap because you have been so used to sleeping all day while tanning, so this whole staying up all day thing wasn't working out very well...

You realize that on this Monday alone you've taken 3 naps because you're just not used to being awake for 8 hours straight.

The first day back is over and now you just have to push through with the last 2 months of school.

The distant memory of your cruise drifting away along with your tan. The last bit of memories that you have from spring break are the only things fueling your motivation to get through these 2 months of school.
