It seems weird that we all grow up in the same country but learn different elements of history and science and other subjects.
And if you aren't traveled before the age of 10, like most folks, chances are you won't realize that not everyone learned the way you did for quite a while.
I remember meeting someone from Texas who talked about what a huge part of their education learning about the Alamo is, for example.
I, a New Yorker, learned pretty much everything I know about the Alamo from King of the Hill. It's not a statement of pride, just an honest one.
So, now I'm curious, what's something weird that you learned about in your state growing up that was glossed over, if mentioned at all, anywhere else?
